Live Your Most Succulent Wild Life...

As you may be discovering, word art 'speaks' to my soul... lol... I know, a bit hokey, but there is just something about it... it is beautiful and meaningful and whimsical.... and one of my favorite word artists is Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy... aka SARK.




If you haven't heard of her or read any of her fabulous books, take a peek... they are deliciously unique. I love to play with my 'Living Juicy' cards. When sending a handwritten note (yes.... I absolutely LOVE to send notes/cards) I often will think of the person I'm sending to and pull a card for her/him... it always amazes me just how fitting the sentiment is.... sometimes I will pull for myself and I did so the other evening...

Color My World...

I had a bit of a deja vu experience recently... when I was a little girl, my mom took me to the store and let me pick out crayons and paper... do you remember the first time you saw that box of 64.... ?! EVERY COLOR IMAGINEABLE... and none of the colors were duplicates (not like they do in some of their huge boxes today!)... AND it had a sharpener Built. Right. IN! I was giddy with excitement and hope that somehow that box would be mine... all those colors at my finger-tips...

well, the other day I had a 30% off one item coupon for an art supply store... and you know how it is with art supplies... you never really do NEED anything until you walk in and need EVERYTHING! As I walked up and down the aisle seeking out the ideal item to play with I came upon the most perfect thing for an artist beckoning to be born..... a beautiful box of 48 colors....

I already know exactly what my 1st 2 projects are going to be...

A Place for Everything...

.... as I continue to help my space evolve, I come up with 'crafty' ways to organize... I looked longingly at the pottery barn 'techie gadget caddy' (my description, not theirs) but was unwilling to part with the $$$... so, looked into the depths of a closet (which is in desperate need of some reorganizing as well.... it is ripe for a before/after makeover!) and found a small pressed paper box. With my trusty x-acto knive, pretty papers & glue, I created my own 'caddy'.... and I like it all the more.

Everything You Need...

is inside yourself.

I don't usually wonder whether or not I'm able to do something... in fact, when I see a new art or craft item that I like, I'm usually inspired to 'Just Do It'. Part of the fun of anything is the journey... the anticipation... the process.

So I'm sending out to the universe my desire to re*CREATE a gorgeous little purse I picked up last week... I have the fabric,(see the pic!), have found the clasp handle... so now ... I just need to do it! Hopefully by next week... (first things first... the deck curtains I promised the boys... we've got a gorgeous latte chiffon for that!) ; )

I love words... and word art... which is probably one of the reasons why 'collage' appeals to me *grin* I have been experimenting with creating word 'tags'... I'm using them in various ways... one of my favorite ways is to simply hang them in places where I will see them daily...
